Chevrolet Nova Fuel Filter

In the Chevrolet Nova vehicles, the Fuel Filter is an important part of the fuel system with the task of protecting the engine from such abrasive particles as dirt, rust, and water which causes wear of various parts and lowered efficiency. Usually, the Fuel Filter is installed betweeen the fuel tank and the engine, and the filter is built with replaceable cartridges or spin-on type. In carbureted Novas, the filter is installed between the mechanical fuel pump and carburetor whereas in EFI version it is situates either under the car or in the engine bay. Cleaning of the Fuel Filter is very crucial since accumulation of dirt affects the flow of fuel and affects the performance of the engine to provide smooth fuel supply to the engine. Additional options in Diesel Nova models could have water separators and fuel heaters together with other filters to ensure that water does not penetrate in the fuel system and also to minimize the production of paraffin wax within the fuel system.

Each OEM Chevrolet Nova Fuel Filter we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet Nova Fuel Filter Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Fuel Filter?
A: Disconnect the fuel line connection at the inlet fuel filter nut. When loosening the fuel line fitting at the carburetor, always use the correct size wrenches, preferably a "flare-nut" wrench to avoid rounding-off the corners of the tube fitting, and another wrench to keep the carburetor inlet fitting from turning. Unscrew the fuel filter nut, then remove the element and spring, which includes the carburetor fuel filter, inlet fitting, gasket and spring. Install the element spring and element. On bronze filters (Holley carburetors) the small section of the cone faces outwards. Where applicable, install a new gasket on the inlet fitting nut. Install the nut and tighten it securely, but don't overtighten it, as the threads in the carburetor body are easily stripped. Install the fuel line and tighten the line fitting securely, holding the inlet fitting with another wrench to prevent stripping out the threads in the carburetor body or twisting the fuel line.
