  Q: How to remove and install the MAP sensor on non-super-charged Chevrolet Corvette?

  A: This applies to all non-turbocharged models. So, the cable had to be disconnected from the terminal with a negative charge. For 5.7L( LS1/LS6) engines on 1999 through 2004 models, remove the PCV hose bracket nut and move the PCV tube and hoses out of the way. First of all, you need to take off injectors together with fuel rail. In addition, it is necessary to unplug electrical connection from the MAP sensor at the back of intake manifold. Now pull towards front then up and out of its retainer. To put it back in place one should do everything in reverse order. The sensor is pushed downwards so that it is tightly held by retainer.The MAP sensors for engines with 6L (LS2), 6.2L (LS3) and 7L (LS7)are located near throttle body on right side of intake manifold.Remove oil filler cap then remove right side engine cover.Disconnect electrical connector to MAP sensor.Pull it off from intake manifold.Remove old grommet from this map sensor and check its condition.If there are cracks or signs that it's been damaged replace.Apply some clean engine oil on this grommet so that it doesn't rip when pushing it into mounting hole.Installation is a reversed form of removing things before.
