  Q: How do you remove and reinstall the shift lever assembly and shift interlock solenoid on Saturn LS1?

  A: To remove the shift lever assembly, it is necessary to remove the center console, and then to separate the end of the Shift Cable from the pin of the assembly and to disconnect the electric wires if any. Next, the four mounting bolts are to be undone and the assembly pulled out, only in case of a replacement, some parts from the assembly may be transferred, the process of installation is vice versa of its removal.
