Q: How do I remove and replace the blower unit and motor in a Chevrolet Metro?
A: Turning on the engine while the car is being worked on will lead to a fire disaster. Located above and to the right of the accelerator pedal in the Sprint model, and behind the glove box in the Metro model, on the passenger side of the dash is where you find a blower motor. The rubber air duct running between the motor and the blower housing should be disconnected from both ends by removing them from their respective positions. You may use screws, clamps or bolts or anything that holds it firmly in place, just keep an eye for these holding mechanisms. Remove three screws that hold motor mounting plate to its base; this will allow blower wheel to slip off shaft. There are 2 screws on either side of striker one can remove in order to get rid of one's glove box. Remove two screws and lift up rear upper glove box panel. Disconnecting hose clips and electrical connectors from around blower module will enable you to remove it from vehicle. If you are replacing your fan motor, remove nut attaching fan blade to top of motor shaft and transfer it to new motor. It's pretty straightforward-do everything opposite as stated above! If removing your fresh/recirculated cable is necessary, then that has already been explained in great detail before so let's not go over it again here which is what I feel like I'm doing because my brain hurts reading these instructions over and over again; oh well though because maybe repetition breeds familiarity with some people but not me who detests redundancy more than anything else especially repetitive phrasing which goes against my own training as a writer where variety should reign supreme-sorry got carried away there for a second! This thing has two 10 mm bolts at bottom corners which hold it onto heater plenum; unscrew them all very carefully without damaging either part since there will be no need anymore once we're finished taking apart this particular component during our process of disassembly before putting everything back together later on.
