How Should You Replace the MAP Sensor on Chevrolet Malibu?

If the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) comes on after replacing the sensor and starting the engine, drive the vehicle to a dealer or qualified repair shop to have the intake system learned values reset with a factory scan tool. For 2.0L and 2.5L engines, the MAP sensor is located on the right end of the intake manifold, while 1.5L engines do not have a MAP sensor. Begin by removing the engine cover. For the 2.0L model, remove the charge air cooler outlet duct; for the 2.5L engine, remove the air filter resonator and outlet duct. Next, locate and disconnect the electrical connector from the MAP sensor, then twist and pull the sensor from the intake manifold. Also, disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF sensor before pulling the sensor from the intake manifold. Inspect the O-ring and replace it if damaged. Installation is the reverse of removal.
