How do you perform maintenance and check on the cooling system and Coolant Temperature Sensor?

The engine has a temperature gauge that is installed on the dashboard and the ECT sensor is located on the engine. When an overheating condition has occurred, always know that first check the coolant level in the system and that the coolant mixture is correct. Do not assume anything before referring to Troubleshooting section of this manual concerning your temperature indicator. Check instrument cluster wired harness connections if your temperature gauge remains in C position. If you have a problem with the ECT sensor, there is a good chance that you will see a CHECK ENGINE light come on and may need to replace the sensor or fix the circuit.
