How to remove and install the receiver-drier in a Chevrolet Malibu's air conditioning system?

The A/C Accumulator cartridge housing is integrated into the condenser. If the housing is damaged, the condenser must be replaced. First, have the air conditioning system discharged by an automotive air conditioning technician. On 2015 and earlier models, remove the bumper cover. Also on these models, support the condenser and radiator on the passenger's side using wire or sturdy line. Remove the driver's side radiator support bracket fasteners and remove the bracket. On 2016 and later models, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then remove the radiator splash shield fasteners and shield from under the vehicle. Next, remove the A/C Accumulator plug and O-ring. The A/C Accumulator plug can be accessed from under the vehicle. Finally, remove the refrigerant filter and drier from the A/C Accumulator cartridge housing. Installation: Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following: Lubricate the new O-rings with compatible refrigerant oil. Have the system evacuated, recharged and leak tested by the shop that discharged it.
