Q: How to remove and install a starter motor on Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Detach the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the under-vehicle splash shield, if equipped. On 5.7L models, remove the nut/bolts retaining the intermediate exhaust pipes to the manifolds. Lower the exhaust, then secure it out of the way using mechanic's wire. On 5.7L engines, disconnect the exhaust and secure it out of the way. On 6.0L, 7.0L and 2008 6.2L engines, remove the nut/bolts retaining the right-side catalytic converter to the manifold and exhaust pipe. On 2009 and later models equipped with a manual transmission, remove the bellhousing access cover. Remove the starter mounting fasteners and lower the starter to access the wiring-DO NOT let the starter hang by the wiring. Remove the starter Battery Cable nut and cable, then disconnect the starter solenoid electrical connector and remove the starter. Installation is the reverse of removal.
