How to Remove and Install a Headlight Switch on Buick Century and Regal? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the negative battery cable and on 1975-79 models with air conditioning, remove the left A/C duct or tube. Pull the switch knob to the last notch and depress the spring loaded latch button on top of the switch while pulling the knob and rod out of the switch. On 1978 and later models, depress the retainer tab behind the knob and remove the knob. Remove the left I/P trim plate by grasping plate and careful pull straight out. Remove the screws securing the headlight switch in place. Disconnect the multiple electrical harness from the switch, and remove. For 1984-87 models, remove left hand I/P trim cover by grasping the trim cover on both sides and pull straight out. Remove the three 7mm retainer screws and pull the switch straight out. To install, push the switch straight in being careful not to damage prongs on new switch, tighten screws, connect battery cable and check operation.

    Q:
How to replace a dimmer switch on a steering column for Buick Skylark,Oldsmobile Omega and Pontiac Phoenix? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Remove the steering column trim cover from the underside of the dash. Disconnect the turn signal switch lead and windshield wiper switch lead extending from the steering column from the wiring harness. Disconnect the back-up light switch lead from its switch. Disconnect the shift indicator cable by prying the clip from the shift bowl. Remove the 3 bolts and 1 nut that secure the steering column to its support and lower the column. Be careful not to damage the shift cable or remaining electrical harnesses. Disconnect the wiring lead from the dimmer switch. To remove the dimmer switch, remove the nut from the forward end of the dimmer switch bracket and the screw from the rear end that secures the switch to the column. Place the new dimmer switch in position, taking care to line it up with the actuator rod. Pull the turn signal/dimmer lever forward and push the dimmer switch toward the steering wheel until it clicks. Then back it off about 3/16-in (5 mm) to allow for play and tighten it down. Connect the wiring lead to the dimmer switch. Complete the installation by reversing the removal procedure described in paragraphs 1 through 6. Note: When reattaching the shift indicator cable clip to the shift bowl, place the shift lever in the 'Neutral' position, then position the clip on the edge of the bowl so that the shift indicator pointer is pointing to the 'N'. Push the clip onto the bowl to secure it.
