    The battery's negative terminal cable should be disconnected. The starter motor must be removed. Disconnect the strap from the solenoid which mates with the starter motor terminal. Remove the two screws that hold down solenoid to the starter motor. Turn it manually in clockwise direction and disengage flange from starter body. Remove screws mounting solenoid to frame, then turn it clockwise while pulling for removal off-starter motor of a starter solenoid. To put it back, make sure return spring is on plunger, then place solenoid body in housing of a starter and finally engage flange by turning solenoid counterclockwise. Get two screws for the solenoid in addition to connecting motor strap.
