    Q:
How should the spark plug wires be inspected, and why should they be checked one at a time for the 1987 Chevrolet Beretta? Posted by Customer
    A:
To inspect the spark plug wires:Disconnect the plug wire from the spark plug by grabbing the rubber boot, twisting slightly, and pulling the wire off. Avoid pulling on the wire itself, only on the rubber boot.Check inside the boot for corrosion, which looks like a white crusty powder.Push the wire and boot back onto the end of the spark plug, ensuring a tight fit. If it's not secure, use pliers to crimp the metal connector inside the boot until it fits securely on the plug.Clean the entire length of the wire with a clean rag to remove dirt and grease.Check for burns, cracks, or other damage without bending the wire excessively or pulling it lengthwise to prevent conductor breakage.
