A: Check Spark Plug wires when installing new plugs or at recommended intervals. Disconnect each wire from the plug, using a removal tool or twisting and pulling the boot. Look for corrosion inside the boot. Reattach the wire and boot to the plug, ensuring a tight fit. Clean the wire and inspect for damage. Check the wire's flexibility by bending it. Disconnect the wire at the distributor, checking for corrosion and fit. Reinstall the boot or ring onto the distributor. Repeat for all wires. In a dark garage, visually check for arcing or sparks while the engine runs. If needed, buy new wires specific to your engine model and replace each wire one by one to maintain the firing sequence.
