    Q:
How to replace the fuel filter on a Chevrolet C1500 and K1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
All models employ an in-line fuel filter located on the left side frame rail, under the bed. To replace it, first relieve the fuel system pressure. Place a drain pan under the filter area. On most models, the fuel filter is an inline type mounted inside the frame rail. Use back-up wrenches when loosening the fuel line fittings at the filter. Use a flare-nut wrench to disconnect the fuel lines from the filter, and be sure to use a back-up wrench to hold the filter. Be prepared to deal with residual fuel when loosening the fittings. On some later utility models, the fuel filter is in a cartridge type housing. Unscrew the housing and let the fuel drain, then clean the inside of the housing. Install the filter as it was removed. On cartridge type systems, lightly oil the cartridge gasket and put a new filter into the housing. Tighten the housing 2/3 of a turn after the gasket makes contact. After completing the work, check the area carefully for fuel leaks. If the fuel filter was clogged, the fuel tank may have dirt in it and may need to be cleaned.

    Q:
How to replace a fuel filter for Pontiac Fiero? Posted by Customer
    A:
For four-cylinder engine, To do this, use the flare nut wrench to loosen both ends of the fuel filter threaded connectors. The filter must be held with a backup wrench in addition to using a flare nut wrench when disconnecting the threaded fittings at both ends. Let go of both ends. Loosen the clamp bolt that is situated under the filter. Afterwards, dispose of the old filter and install a new one in its place. Ensure that you point out an arrow indicating direction of flow of fuel towards fuel injection system. Afterward, reconnect the fuel line fittings to each end of the filter before tightening them finger tight together. To finalize, tighten the clamp bolt situated under the filter and ensure all fuel line fittings are tightened securely . V6 engine: The first step is to relieve pressure in the fuel system before disconnecting any fuel lines. The car should be lifted up at its rear by jackstands supported firmly on it; at the same time, block its front wheels with blocks . Meanwhile, put something underneath your fuel filter so as to collect any spilled gasoline . A wrench should then be used to loosen each side from which we find a fuel leak and finally take away any lines that might still be attached to it . In order for it not to turn, there has to be use of a back-up wrench on canister for fuels . Remove the bolt clamping down the filter mount after having taken off its mounting bracket. By doing this, you will have actually positioned your new component inside your mount bracket . Moreover, ensure that there is an arrow that points on its way to canister for fuels when installing it anew on this fixture but don't completely fasten down this bracket's clamp bolt yet . Get started by screwing in one end of each tube without tightening them until now on either side of your filters before tightening the fuel filter clamp bolt. After that, tighten your fuel line fittings on this assembly to avoid any chances of movement through them using a back-up wrench . Pressurize the fuel system by cycling the ignition switch between On and Off every two seconds, then look for fuel leaks.
