    Q:
How do you check and replace the rear transmission mount for Chevrolet C1500 and K1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Take a large-sized screwdriver or pry bar to slide it between the transmission and the crossmember, after which you will need to lift the transmission a little bit upwards in order to examine the rear transmission mount for signs of wear. If this part comes out of contact with an insulator considerably, so your mount is already deteriorated. You may remove the nut fastening the insulator onto a transverse beam and bolts that fix an insulator to a case for changing any mount. Push up a gear-box by means of jack and take away pillows. The installation is reversed from the removal process. Be sure to fasten all nuts well.

    Q:
How can I check the condition of the transmission mount on Chevrolet Blazer,S10,GMC Jimmy and Sonoma? Posted by Customer
    A:
To check the condition of the transmission mount, insert a large screwdriver or pry bar into the space between the transmission and the cross member and attempt to pry the transmission up slightly. If there is any noticeable separation of the rubber, it indicates that the mount is worn out. For removal, start by removing the nut that attaches the insulator to the cross member, as well as the bolts that attach the insulator to the transmission. Then, raise the transmission slightly using a jack and remove the insulator. When installing the new mount, ensure that the procedure is reversed and tighten the nuts and bolts securely.

Then, raise the transmission slightly with a jack and remove the insulator.
