A: Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Insert a large screwdriver or prybar into the space between the transmission extension housing and the crossmember and try to pry the transmission up slightly. The transmission should not move much at all if the mount is cracked or torn, replace it. To replace the mount, remove the fasteners attaching the mount to the crossmember and to the transmission. Raise the transmission slightly with a jack and remove the mount. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
