On models of this year up to 2002 you can alter the side marker light bulbs with a little effort to remove the side marker light housing first you will need push the pushpin which is at the top of the housing to make it pop then to fully free the light housing you will need to pull it up and back. Then, by twisting the bulb socket it can be disconnected from the housing, the bulb can be taken out of the holder and its installation presupposes the reverse actions to be done. For the front turn signal and parking light bulbs, one has to first remove the headlight housing, then to release the bulb holder one has to rotate it anti clockwise, to remove the bulb it has to be pulled straight out of the holder and to do the reverse process to lock it back into place. To replace fog lamp bulbs, lift the front of the vehicle off the ground securely with jackstands, for minis with the outer fender liner removed or access the bulb via the front bumper on early models, pull the electrical connector off, twist the bulb holder counter clockwise and reinstall by reversing. The center high-mounted brake light bulb is situated in the upper flange of the rear hatch and being to be accessed requires the removal of washer jet and disconnecting the washer hose, thereafter, erase two screws in the light housing, electrical connector and lens from the bulb assembly and the last step is replacing the individual bulbs. For the rear brake, tail, turn signal and back up light bulbs, get to the lift gate, unscrew the tail light, pull the tail light assembly backward in order to detach the clips, rotate the holder anti clockwise to unlock, pull the bulb out from the holder, and put it back in the reverse manner. In the case of license plate light bulbs, unscrew the housing - have it positioned on the plate or around the scribe - pry the housing off its bezel, unplug the bulb candidate from its socket, and put it back together in similar fashion. For interior reading light bulbs, remove the lens from the housing, to remove the bulb pull it upward directly and replace it in the same manner. In case of the cargo and dome light bulbs, unscrew the lens of the housing, disconnect the bulb from the terminals and then replace in the opposite order. For the instrument cluster light bulbs in particular, the removal of the instrument cluster is necessary, then rotation of the bulb socket clockwise with a small screwdriver, and should there be a failed bulb it is a matter of replacing all the bulbs before reassembling the instrument cluster the right way round.
