The bulb is actually permanently attached to the base so that both should be replaced together. Regarding brake, tail, turn and back up light bulbs, open the trunk or the lift gate, unscrew the trim panel then turn the socket anti-clockwise. Switch off the item and wait for some time until it is cool enough the output shaft then rotate it 1/8 clockwise so as to pull out the bulb, when replacing the bulb make sure that the locator pins are lined up.
