To remove the radio, start by detaching the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Then, remove the instrument cluster bezel and unscrew the radio. Disconnect the electrical connection and antenna lead before finally removing the radio from the dash. For installation, simply reverse the removal steps. When it comes to the speakers, if they are door-mounted, remove the door trim panel and drill out the rivets. Detach the speaker and unplug the electrical connector. Use a small hand-operated rivet gun for installing the new speaker. For front speakers, remove the speaker grille, screws, and detach the speaker. For rear speakers, remove the trim panel, nuts, and speaker.

On models with a Delco Loe II anti-theft audio system, make sure that the lockout feature is deactivated before disconnecting the battery for any operation. For radio receiver (1988 to 1994 models), all negative cables should be disconnected from the battery; then remove the ashtray, take out the electrical connectors from the radio receiver, unscrew and get rid of the bracket and, finally, pull out the radio receiver from the dash by removing screws that hold it on place. Installation is opposite to removal. For radio receiver (1995-present models), disconnect negative cable at battery; unhook 4 clips across top and 3 on bottom of instrument cluster trim panel and remove.This not only helps in easy installation but also ensures that it can be used comfortably. Thereafter use a small screwdriver to release retainers and pull radio unit through instrument panel, disconnect electrical connectors and antenna lead from radio unit. To remove the radio control panel, it is necessary to take off the steering column trim panel, the radio control knobs, the instrument panel trim plate, and the radio control panel, and on some models, the heater and air conditioner control assembly as a single unit. Once the assembly is removed, detach the radio from the heater and air conditioner control assembly, and installation is the reverse of removal. For late models, remove the accessory trim panel surrounding the radio and, on some models, the instrument cluster bezel. Remove the mounting screws and the electrical connectors at the rear of the radio along with the antenna lead, then detach the radio from the instrument panel, with installation being the reverse of removal. For dash-mounted speakers, remove the instrument panel pad, then the speaker mounting screws, lift the speaker out of its enclosure, unplug the electrical connector, and remove the speaker, with installation being the reverse of removal. For door-mounted speakers, remove the door trim panel, then the screws securing the speakers to the door, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the speaker, with installation being the reverse of removal. For rear speakers, remove the rear seat back and the seat back-to-window trim panel, then remove the screws securing the speaker housing for coupe models or the speaker itself for sedan models, detach the electrical connector, and on coupe models, remove the screws and separate the speaker from the housing, with installation being the reverse of removal.

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, ensuring to disable the anti-theft feature on models equipped with a Delco Loe II audio system. For the dash mounted speaker, remove the dash pad by taking out the four retaining screws underneath its lip, then remove the four bolts securing the speaker to the braces and lift the speaker out while disconnecting the wire connector. For the rear quarter speaker, take off the rear quarter trim panel, disconnect the electrical connector from the speaker, and remove the screws holding the speaker to the mounting bracket before taking it out. In the rear compartment, open the area, remove the screws from the speaker grill and take off the grille, then remove the speaker mounting screws, lift the speaker, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the speaker. Installation for all speakers follows the reverse order of removal.
