Q: How to remove and install Speakers for Chevrolet C1500 and K1500?
A: On models with a Delco Loe II anti-theft audio system, make sure that the lockout feature is deactivated before disconnecting the battery for any operation. For radio receiver (1988 to 1994 models), all negative cables should be disconnected from the battery; then remove the ashtray, take out the electrical connectors from the radio receiver, unscrew and get rid of the bracket and, finally, pull out the radio receiver from the dash by removing screws that hold it on place. Installation is opposite to removal. For radio receiver (1995-present models), disconnect negative cable at battery; unhook 4 clips across top and 3 on bottom of instrument cluster trim panel and remove. This not only helps in easy installation but also ensures that it can be used comfortably. Thereafter use a small screwdriver to release retainers and pull radio unit through instrument panel, disconnect electrical connectors and antenna lead from radio unit. Installation is just opposite of removal. For control head (1988 to 1994 models), undress bezel, take off heater/air conditioner control head then remove screws keeping how to start your car on the road CD player in place. Remove connectors attached electrically as well as antenna connector from control head; remove control head from dash itself. Installation is reversal of removal process. With a dull screwdriver carefully pry speaker grille up using a dull screwdriver raise speaker and unplug wires for your speaker . Installation is contrary to their removal.
