Saturn LS Throttle Position Sensor

TPS in Saturn LS vehicles is an essential part of electrical throttle control that affects the combustion procedure by adjusting the air-fuel mixture aptly. In TPS there is a circuit that measures the position of throttle and send signals to the fuel injection circuit which in turn regulates the amount of fuel supplied to the engine according to the engine power requirement. This process is performed repeatedly to ensure that the rate of acceleration, cruising and deceleration is consistent. Saturn LS automobiles change the Throttle Position Sensor in its vehicles over a period of time and has used different types of Throttle Position Sensor for the purpose. Current TPS are of Hall effect, inductive or magnetoresistive type which is far superior to the older potentiometric sensors that are in contact with the axle. Such advanced sensors measure changes occurring in magnetic fields and translate them into voltage signals for the Engine Control Unit (ECU), increasing the levels of control and optimisation of the engine.

Each OEM Saturn LS Throttle Position Sensor we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Saturn LS Throttle Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you replace the TP sensor on Saturn LS?
A: For four-cylinder models, start by turning the ignition key to OFF. Disconnect the TP sensor electrical connector, then remove the TP sensor mounting screws and the sensor itself. Discard the old sensor O-ring and install a new one before placing the TP sensor back, ensuring the flat sides of the hub align with the flat sides of the throttle plate shaft. Coat the threads of the mounting screws with a thread locking compound before installation, which should be done in reverse order of removal, ensuring the screws are tightened securely. In V6 models, the TP sensor is integrated into the throttle body and cannot be removed separately; if replacement is necessary, the entire throttle body assembly must be replaced.
