Saturn Ion Crankshaft Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you remove the CKP sensor?
A: To remove the CKP sensor, start by turning the ignition key to OFF. Then, raise the vehicle and secure it on jackstands. Next, remove the starter motor and disconnect the electrical connector from the CKP sensor. Unscrew the CKP sensor mounting bolt and remove the sensor. If you plan to reuse the old CKP sensor, make sure to remove the old O-ring and discard it. When installing the CKP sensor, always use a new O-ring and tighten the mounting bolt securely.
