How to remove and install the steering gear?

To remove the rack and pinion, start by loosening the front wheel lug nuts and raising the front of the vehicle on jackstands. Remove the wheels and the under-vehicle splash shield, as well as the skid plate bolts and skid plate if applicable. Remove the rack and pinion crossmember and mark the relationship of the intermediate shaft coupler to the rack and pinion input shaft before removing the pinch bolt.
