Q: How to replace and inspect the air filter in Chevrolet Blazer,S10,GMC Jimmy and Sonoma?
A: It is necessary to replace the air filter with a new one and inspect it between subsequent changes. The air filter for TBI models is located inside an air cleaner housing mounted on top of the engine. Remove the wing nuts and lift off the top plate; be cautious not to put anything down into the TBI unit. Take out the air cleaner element from the housing, clean inside of the air cleaner housing using a clean piece of cloth, put in place a new filter in that housing ensuring it seats well, then fasten the top plate and wing nuts. For Central Port Injection and Multiport Fuel Injection systems, the air filter is located in an air cleaner housing positioned at the left-front corner of an engine compartment. Open two clips, separate halves of a housing and lift out a filter. Wipe out inside of an air cleaner housing with a clean rag, place new filter into it making sure it seats properly, fit together these two halves and fix them with clips.
