Chevrolet Metro Oil Pan

The Oil Pan in Chevrolet Metro vehicles is used to hold and store Engine Oil to prevent direct contact and to also regulate the temperature of the Engine components. Featuring a wet sump design the Oil Pan receives the oil that pass through a pickup tube due to the pressure of the oil pump and then the oil is circulated within the engine before returning to the pan. Thus, this design is a necessity when aiming at achieving the optimal results with the work of engines and their ability to operate efficiently under different conditions. The first Chevrolet Metro Oil Pans were normally built using stamped steel process, yet we have witnessed development in design to incorporate cast aluminum process. All these shifts improve robustness and effectiveness in the product development pipeline. The basic function of each part or component is the same but it can vary from model to model in terms of material and layout and this may affect the efficiency of a component in terms of its ability to handle the flow of oil especially in conditions such as dynamic driving. In essence, the Oil Pan is a vital component for the proper operation of the Chevrolet Metro's lubrication system hence, its importance cannot be overemphasized.

Each OEM Chevrolet Metro Oil Pan we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet Metro Oil Pan Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you properly remove and install an oil pan on Chevrolet Metro?
A: Remove the negative cable from the battery and elevate the front of the Piastrel at a safe height with the help of jackstands. Remove the engine oil and in case the car has a splash shield you should remove it from under the engine. Remove the front exhaust pipe and drop it downwards for ease of working on the oil pan. Secondary to this, there are some cases when the bell housing lower plate may be required to be erased as well. Remove the evenly spaced bolts/nuts which hold the oil pan; you should not pry the oil pan between the block and the pan in order not to destroy the sealing surfaces; if it's very tight you can gently tap a soft face hammer lightly to remove the pan. If necessary, disconnect the oil sump pick-up tube by unscrewing of bolts. The gasket sealing surfaces in the block and oil pan should be scrapes free of all old gasket material and sealant and wiped with lacquer thinner or acetone and make sure the bolt holes in the block are clean. Place the pan on a block of wood and if the flange of the oil pan is distorted particularly around the bolt holes hammer the pan flange in order to accomplish the gasket surface of the pan. If the oil pickup tube was disconnected then it was refitted with appropriate new seal. Before putting the oil pan, then put thin layer of the RTV sealant on the flange then place the new gasket to the pan such that the bolt holes match. Put the oil pan into position where it requires to be fitted on the engine block, and fasten the mounting bolts/nuts, in a diagonal manner, till you get to the right torque. Wait at least for 30 minutes before adding the oil to the engine and then turn on the engine, check Whether the pan is leaking.
