A: To remove the brake assembly, start by removing the cap from the brake fluid reservoir and draining about two-thirds of the fluid. Then, loosen the lug nuts and raise the vehicle, supporting it securely on jackstands. Remove the wheels and inspect the Brake Disc. Pivot the caliper up and support it with wire. Remove the inner and outer brake pads, and clean the caliper mounting bolts and bolt holes. Replace the upper and lower pad retainers with new ones, cleaning the mating surface before installation. To install the new brake pads, start by installing the outer pad, followed by the inner pad. Clean and lubricate the slide pins, replacing any damaged or worn ones. Place the caliper back into position, making sure the boot seats properly. Tighten the mounting bolts and lug nuts to the specified torque. After completing the job, depress the brake pedal to bring the pads into contact with the disc and check the brake fluid level. Break in the new pads by making several low-speed stops, allowing time for the discs to cool between each stop. Finally, confirm that the brakes are fully operational before resuming normal driving.
