Chevrolet Cobalt Sway Bar Kit

A Chevrolet Cobalt Sway Bar Kit is a part that actuates the suspension system on the vehicle at opposite ends thus seeking to lessen roll on the vehicle during cornering or over humps. This is an anti-roll bar that utilizes torsion spring to enhance the roll stiffness of the car without having an impact on the vertical stiffness of the car thus enhancing the grip capabilities of the car. A wide range of sway bar kits designs have been used on Chevrolet Cobalt cars at different times with adjustable and active ones being popular with those seeking improved performance. Most of these systems can vary stiffness per driving conditions thus enhance the overall comfort of the ride. The Cobalt's sway bar kit improves performance but it may transfer vibration between wheels and consequently users may feel their Cobalt 'waddling' on uneven surfaces. Altogether, it could be concluded that the Chevrolet Cobalt Sway Bar Kit has a vital function of enhancing the handling of the car.

Each OEM Chevrolet Cobalt Sway Bar Kit we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet Cobalt Sway Bar Kit Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you remove the Sway Bar Bushing,Sway Bar Kit and Sway Bar Link?
A: To remove the bushings and links, start by loosening the front wheel lug nuts and raising the front of the vehicle. Support it securely on jackstands and remove the front wheels. Then, detach the sway bar links by removing the nuts that attach them to the strut coil spring assembly and the sway bar. Next, remove the bolts and nuts from the sway bar bushing retainers and pry them off if necessary. Inspect the retainer bushings for any cracks or tears and replace them if needed. If the ball studs on the links are loose or worn, replace the links. To install the links, tighten the link nuts to the proper torque specifications. Install the retainer bushings by cleaning the areas on the sway bar where they are located and lubricating the inside and outside of the new bushings with vegetable oil. Finally, install the retainers and bolts, tightening them to the specified torque. For the removal of the sway bar kit, start by removing the bushings after the clamps are unbolted. Support the transaxle with a floor jack and remove the rear transaxle mount. On certain models, the steering gear does not need to be removed. Twist the sway bar kit up and remove it through the right wheel opening. The installation process is the reverse of the removal procedure.
