Chevrolet Avalanche Ball Joint

Chevrolet Avalanche vehicles' Ball Joint is a part of the suspension system that joins the control arms and the steering knuckles. Some of these ball joints help to allow a particular joint to rotate in two particular planes while at the same time restricting translation and this in turn helps in improving the handling and stability of the car. A ball joint is engineered forged from steel and it has a bearing stud and socket encased in a rubber like boot so that the joint cannot gather dirt and to let the lubricant circulate. Concerning Chevrolet Avalanche vehicles, ball joints may differ in the kind and position; some are load bearing, and they help support vehicle weight whereas others are not load bearing and are used for vehicles' proper orientation only. Thus, considering ball joints, it is for this reason important to service them periodically by replacing them with new ones where necessary to eliminate the noise, abnormal wear of tires, misalignment and steering problems. Also, performance ball joints that have certain controls for adjustments depending on the suspension geometry are also provided, so that the operating clearances can be achieved always and it will also be able to provide good results in the severe conditions.

Each OEM Chevrolet Avalanche Ball Joint we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet Avalanche Ball Joint Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to check and replace ball joints on Chevrolet Avalanche?
A: To test the upper ball joint, detach it from the Steering Knuckle and check for looseness or use a dial indicator to measure deflection. The upper arm should be replaced if the reading is above 0.079 inches. Examine the lower ball joint for any looseness, or use a dial indicator to measure its deflection. Replace the ball joint if your measurement exceeds 0.079 inches. Demounting of lower ball joint requires Control Arm removal and knocking back crimped areas with a hammer and chisel. To attach it, shove the new ball joint into position within control arm and stake or crimp it down tightly. The whole upper control usually goes with an upper ball joints hence should be replaced as such because they are inseparable from one another by design. Check front-end alignment and adjust accordingly as required.
