Q: How do you remove the Thermostat on Cadillac Escalade?
A: Start by disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal of the battery and draining cooling system in order to remove 4.3L v6,5.3L and 6.2L V8 engines. Then, remove air intake duct and resonator assembly. By squeezing hose clamps, detach radiator hose and expansion tank hose from thermostat housing cover as well as cut off old or deteriorated hoses if necessary before replacing them with new ones. Remove bolts and separate thermostat housing/thermostat assembly tapping it with soft-face hammer if stuck during removal. For installation, clean coolant manifold mating surfaces along with thermostat housing cover, plus install a new o-ring seal to thermostat housing. Finally attach the thermostat/housing to the coolantmanifold and tighten the bolts to specified torque value."Reconnect these hoses to thermostathousing againand refillthe cooling system." Steps almost similar for 6.0 litre V8 engine only that you have also disconnected lower radiator hose as well removedthermostat housing coverfrom engine.Attachthermostathousing ontothecoolant manifoldandtightenbolts. The other steps are simply reversal of removal process; don't forget filling up of this system again though.
