  • Q: How do you remove the tie-rod?
    A: To wrench off the tie-rod, first ensure that you start by loosening the wheel lug nuts and then raising the front of the vehicle on jackstands. After removing the front wheel, take out cotter pin and loosen nut at tie rod end stud (if equipped). Grip locking pliers or wrench to hold tie-rod while loosening jam nut enough to make marking in relation to threads for position of die rod end.
