Q: How to remove and install a Park/Neutral Position switch?
A: Unplug the electric cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Take off the air filter housing. Remove the electrical connector from the Neutral Safety Switch. Disconnect a Shift Cable and detach lever from a transaxle. If it is necessary, remove the fuel line and bracket. Unscrew bolts holding switch in place then remove it. The installation process is done backwards from removal process. Make sure to adjust so that it fits properly before bolting onto mounting parts. Put shift lever in neutral position. With loosely fitted screws holding on the switch, insert its projection into groove on shaft of the shift lever. After inserting a 3/32-inch drill bit through service adjustment hole, rotate switch assembly until bit slips into tang carrier hole. Apply tension to fixing bolts for switches effectively. Check if range of operation in accordance with each gear position is correct through shifting stick as well as whether transaxle end of cable functions rightly or not.
