    Q:
How do I replace a manual antenna for Buick Century and Regal? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin by removing the antenna cable from the radio under the dashboard and replace it. Then unscrew the fender to take off the antenna, which is still attached with its wire, from the car. For new antenna installation, insert the cable lead into the wheel well of the fender and route it toward the radio so that it connects with its back. The screw is used to fix in place an antenna mast on a fender such as this one and to verify its operation. Next, take out the mast from its base and remove trimming part off antenna housing. Undo housing mounting screws at first, then take out lead-in cable of the antenna through engine compartment routing. Remove antennae base assembly and put on new base assembly routing lead-in cable towards radio. Tighten mounting screws for housing of antennae through screwing them up. Install trim for antennae housing then attach antennae to base. Take negative battery cable off then remove instrument panel sound absorber pad in order to install power antennae inside fender. Disconnect relay assembly's antena lead-in and harness connector from them. Use masking tape at rear edge of door and fender if required. Remove inner to outer fender retaining screws as well as front wheel assembly when necessary too. In some cases, take away lower rocker panel and inner splash shield from fender as needed also. Before removing antennae upper retaining nut, unbolt it from bracket along with thirteen other nuts that hold bracket for fitting antennae to vehicle body on passenger side front fender where they removed though here is no picture showing any detail concerning these steps or their exact position; what was shown however was only a general diagram without important information like how many bolts could be on each joint between parts mentioned above except mentioning either side or about another bolt being below there between both brackets since nothing else had been mentioned regarding any other part used besides nuts & Bolts used so far except few specific ones which were mentioned briefly at first. Put it into position, then loosely install power antennae to bracket retaining bolts and upper antenna retaining nut. Finally, reverse the installation procedure and apply silicone grease to the harness connector before reconnecting the negative battery cable. Lastly, test the antennae mast and restore normal functioning of any affected accessory.

    Q:
How to remove and replace the antenna mast and cable assembly on Chevrolet Trailblazer and Buick Rainier? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the antenna mast, use a small open-end wrench to unscrew it, taking care to avoid scratching the body by surrounding the base with masking tape. If the antenna base/cable assembly needs to be replaced, remove the glove compartment and detach the lower rear portion of the inner fender liner. Disconnect the antenna mast cable from the radio cable at the connector under the far right end of the instrument panel and attach a fish wire to the cable. Pass the cable and grommet through the hole in the cowl into the fender opening from inside the inner fender liner. Under the hood, remove the antenna mast base mounting screws and pull out the base and its cable. For installation, attach the new cable to the fish wire and carefully pull it back into the body, following the original cable's routing. If the extension cable needs to be replaced, remove the glove compartment and the passenger's airbag module. Release the cable from the clips along the top of the instrument panel and disconnect it from the radio and antenna base cable. Finally, reverse the removal procedure for installation.
