Q:
What is the location and removal process for the MAP sensor on Chevrolet Impala and Monte Carlo? Posted by Customer
A:
The V6 models have their MAP sensor on top and at the left rear corner of the intake manifold. To remove the MAP sensor from an intake manifold on a V6 engine, first, disconnect the electrical connector, then remove the retaining bolt and hold-down clamp. Then lift it straight up. The next step is to remove the bolts that hold down the MAP sensor in place and take out the MAP sensor. You should get rid of the old MAP sensor sealing grommet after removing it from its position. If this is not done, it should be replaced if it has got cracks, tears or other signs of wear off. While mounting a new one, one must smear some oil on it so that when pushing into its hole, it will go smoothly without tearing apart easily. Putting back is vice versa of removal. On V8 models, you can find the MAP sensor fixing over the throttle body on top of the intake manifold. The first thing is to uncover an engine part. Afterward, pry up on a locking tab which connected this device with wire harness of an automobile until it unlocks, and then pull it from above while shaking sideway (up and down). Finally pull directly out to detach them from their fixings as well as removing them out completely but slowly & carefully to prevent any possible damages from happening during process followed by:-Take away as well as inspect former sealing grommet relating towards MAP sensors since when they fall into wrong hands this could lead to problems;-If there is any damage noted like cracks for instance then just repair whatever has been torn or broken;-Ensure oiling is done gently but thoroughly by one who needs installation process smoothly because he would never wish see his new fittings become destroyed hence having difficulties making them fit well enough rather than always pulling them apart repeatedly forcing everything back together time after again until each part fits exactly how expected this may happen upon removal.
