How do you remove and install Brake Calipers? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the front brakes, start by loosening the lug nuts on the front wheels, but don't remove them completely. Then, raise the front of your ride and secure it on jackstands. Remove the front wheels and wash the brake assembly with brake system cleaner. Disconnect the brake line from the caliper and plug it to avoid contaminants entering the brake system hence minimizing loss of brake fluid. Next, remove the caliper mounting bolts and detach the caliper from its mounting bracket. To install new brakes on your vehicle's front, reverse removal of all components taken out ensuring that you replace sealing washers placed either side of a new fitting of a break line as well. Tighten banjo bolt along with caliper mounting bolts as per torque specifications.Thereafter, you will need to bleed your automotive braking system, mounting back tires together with lug nuts then lower down your car .Fasten lug nuts in compliance with their set torque specification while at this juncture.lowering is performed after installing wheel lugs while tightening them up properly. If you are considering rear brakes, follow a similar process.Firstly, don't forget to loosen up lug nuts on back wheels, later raise down rear side of your automobile which is then secured using jack stands.Remove rear wheels without forgetting to disengage parking brakes.dissemble brake lever by disconnecting parking cable then release it from bracket provided inside calliper.Unscrew banjo bolt then unplug fitting located at end point in order to prevent leakage because this may lead to contamination. Finally, take away caliper's mounting bolt sliding it off upper guide pin.To install new brakes you should adhere to an installation process that is opposite to removing so that sealing washer for threaded junction between line and clamp is tightened.Banjo bolt as well as caliper functional components must be fastened firmly when compared to other parts such as those in pistons.Carry out bleeding process across entire system where afterward wheels are installed on rims and lug nuts fastened before vehicle is allowed to descend as you tighten its lugs accordingly. The above procedures must be replicated while attending to the rear brakes.
