    Q:
How do you replace the driveaxle oil seal in Chevrolet Equinox,GMC Terrain and Pontiac Torrent? Posted by Customer
    A:
First, you need to put up the rear part of the vehicle and hold it firmly on jackstands. Place the transaxle in Neutral with the parking brake off and block the front wheels to prevent rolling. Next, get rid of driveaxle(s) and cautiously pry out the outdated wheel seal using a seal removal tool or even a big screwdriver while avoiding damaging this seal bore. Then use a large deep socket as a drift or any other seal installer to push in the new wheel seal into bore squarely, ensuring that it sits completely. Afterwards, lubricate the lip of the new seal with multi-purpose grease; Ensure that you do not damage the lip of the new seal. Finally, check differential lubricant level and add more up to an appropriate point if needed.

    Q:
How to replace driveaxle oil seals in Automatic transaxle for Chevrolet Cobalt,HHR,Pontiac G5 and Saturn ION? Posted by Customer
    A:
Wheel leaks frequently occur due to wear of the wheel seals. Replacement of these seals is relatively easy since the repairs can be performed without removing the transaxle from the vehicle. The wheel seals are located on the sides of the transaxle, where the driveaxles are attached. If leakage at the seal is suspected, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. If the seal is leaking, fluid will be found on the sides of the transaxle. To remove the left-side seal, remove the snap-ring on the stub shaft and use a screwdriver or seal removal tool to carefully pry the wheel seal out of the transaxle bore. Measure the distance that the stub axle protrudes beyond the sleeve and remove the sleeve from the stub shaft using a special puller. Compare the old seal to the new one to ensure it's the correct one. For installation, coat the new seal with transmission fluid and use a seal installation tool to drive it into the bore. Use a special tool to press the new sleeve onto the stub shaft and install a new snap-ring on the stub shaft before installing the driveaxle.
