There is only one engine mount used on these models, with additional power train mounts located at the front and rear of the transaxle. To check the mounts, raise the engine slightly to relieve weight from them, then elevate the vehicle securely on jackstands and position a floor jack under the engine oil pan with a block of wood in between. Inspect the mounts for any cracks, hardening, or separation from the casing, and check for movement between the mount plates and the engine or subframe using a large screwdriver or pry bar; if movement is detected, lower the engine and tighten the mount fasteners. For replacement, raise the vehicle and support it on jackstands, then use a floor jack with a block of wood under the oil pan to support the engine's weight. Unbolt the engine mount from the vehicle frame and the engine mount bracket, and installation follows the reverse order of removal. For the front transaxle mount, remove the battery and associated components, then raise the vehicle and support it securely, followed by removing the battery tray and disconnecting necessary wiring. Unbolt the mount from the frame and engine, then separate the mount from its bracket, with installation reversing the removal steps. For the rear transaxle mount, raise the vehicle and support it securely, disconnect the stabilizer bar on AWD models, remove the mount through-bolt, and unbolt the mount from the frame. Installation is again the reverse of removal. During the final tightening of all mounts, ensure the vehicle is level and the engine weight is on the mounts to maximize bushing life and minimize noise and vibration, using non-hardening thread locking compound on the nuts and bolts, and tightening in the order of front, rear, passenger-side, and driver's-side if multiple mounts have been replaced or when installing the engine.

Installation is the reverse of removal. Use thread-locking compound on the mount fasteners and ensure they are tightened securely.

Remove the battery, battery tray, and tray support, then disconnect the right and left upper engine mounts.
