    Q:
How should headlights be aimed correctly to avoid blinding oncoming drivers and ensure optimal visibility on the road on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
This means their positioning should be accurate in order not to cause an inconvenience to other drivers, or cause an accident on the dark by directing beams on the wrong direction. They should be checked every 12 months and each and every time a new headlight is fitted or front end body work has been done. The following procedure gives a temporary change until a specialist sets the car properly. Starting with the vertical since there are no horizontal, a couple of screws on either side at the back of the headlight cover should be manipulated to bring up the brightness of the light. For the headlights adjustment you will need the masking tape, a blank wall and a level floor. Tape it from top to bottom parallel with the centerline of the automobile and the centerline of both headlights and tape another horizontal line in relation to the centerline of all headlights, which might be a little bit easier if the car is positioned a few inches off the wall. Teach the driver to park the vehicle 25 feet away from the wall, in a horizontal position with the half tank of the petrol and no overweight. To set the low beam adjustment the high intensity zone should be set two inches below the horizontal line, by rotating the screw anti-clockwise to raise the beam and clockwise to lower the beam. Adjustment of the headlights is recommended to be done by the dealer service department or a service station as soon as possible.
