The first step to take out the 1.4L engine involves pulling off the cable in the negative battery terminal and emptying the cooling system. After that, lift up the vehicle and remove catalytic converter as well as air duct of air filter housing outlet. Disconnect turbocharger oil feed pipe, coolant return pipe and coolant inlet pipe. Separate oil cooler outlet hose from thermostat housing and oil pressure switch electrical connector is disconnected. Take out inlet and outlet hoses of oil cooler as well to finish removing all fasteners holding it in place Remove the remaining two mounting bolts on top of the oil cooler for a complete removal For 1.8L engine follow same procedures including disconnecting negative battery cable, draining cooling system, removing exhaust manifold, loosen or remove bolts for both oil cooler inlet & outlet pipes at front of block near water pump, disconnecting top coolant hoses from engine before removal occurs. This means that you should separate it from oil cooler body then discard gasket next which is between them Clean around engine block area where new O-rings will be inserted into grooves on either side along with a fresh gasket by means of replacing old ones for 1.4L model For 1.8L power plant which would require new gasket attached firmly onto such assembly Connect back all lines and complete reinstallation process Reinstall battery, change engine oils and filters, refill the cooling system with water or antifreeze solution Run engines until there are no more leakages.

Remove the oil cooler O-ring seal and clean the sealing surfaces of the oil cooler.
