    Q:
How to remove and reinstall the throttle body on a Cadillac CTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
The negative battery terminal cable should be disconnected first. Take off the engine covers. Remove the air intake ducts. For the 3.2L V6 engine, clamp coolant hoses that are connected to the throttle body. Vent tubes and coolant lines leading to the throttle body should be disconnected. Electric connector is also required to be disconnected and by so doing, throttle body mounting fasteners are removed detaching it from the manifold intake. In case of 2.8L, 3.0L, and 3.6L V6 engines, unplug throttle body electrical connector; remove wiring harness holder where possible. Throttle body mounting fasteners are then removed for it to detach from the intake manifold. Coolant hoses that connect to throttle bodies in 5.7L V8 engines should be squeezed closed with clamps during removal process. Throttle body electrical connectors as well as air control valve electrical connectors have to be detached together with crankcase vent hose and coolant lines for disconnection of the throttle body. After removing the fasteners that mount throttle bodies on their intake manifolds, they can easily be taken out of their manifold intakes . It's not also different in 6.0L and 6.2L V8 engines just like all other types where a connector on their wiring harnesses is unplugged so as to get rid of them after which their mounting bolts on manifold intakes become loosened thereby making one separate them easily from these parts . The gasket used here can never again fit any other model hence you must dispose it right away plus covering up the hole inside an inlet manifold using sheet material will save this condition until new sealing is delivered subsequently .– A fresh gasket has to put in place before fastening all nuts tightly; idle relearn procedure then follows . If this does not restore normal idling of an engine, drive vehicle above forty four miles per hour before continuing to decelerate and accelerate it for several times in order to make use of its idle occasions during those periods . This is accomplished by erasing all the ones existing at the present time.
