The radio consists of the Front Radio Control Module, located in the center trim panel, while the radio itself is a separate component behind the FRCM in the dash. Replacement of either the radio or FRCM requires dealer service due to the need for module configuration programming. To begin, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, then remove the center radio and heater/air control module. If removing the FRCM or center trim panel, unscrew the back side of the trim panel, then separate the radio and heater/air conditioning control module. For radio removal, take out the radio mounting screws, disconnect the antenna cable and all electrical connectors, and pull out the radio unit. Installation follows the reverse order. For door speakers, applicable to both front and rear, remove the door trim panel, unscrew the speaker mounting screw, tilt the speaker downwards, disconnect the electrical connectors, and unclip the speaker. Installation is again the reverse. For door tweeters, use a plastic trim tool to disengage the speaker grill retainers, lift the grill assembly, remove the grille cover mounting screw, disconnect the tweeter electrical connector, and unclip the tweeter from the grille panel, with installation being the reverse. For instrument panel speakers, carefully pry out the speaker grille, remove the center and corner speaker fasteners, lift the speaker out, and disconnect the electrical connector, with installation being the reverse. For rear speakers in coupe models, remove the package tray, unscrew the speaker mounting fastener, lift the speaker, disconnect the electrical connector, and unclip the speaker, with installation being the reverse. Disconnect the battery, open the trunk, and remove the rear trim panels to access the amplifier mounted on the right side of the trunk. Depress the amplifier bracket tab to slide the amplifier out, disconnect the electrical connector locking tab, and installation is the reverse. For quarter panel speakers in convertible models, remove the quarter trim panel inserts, unscrew the speaker fasteners, disconnect the electrical connector, and installation is the reverse. For rear speaker and amplifier in convertible models, remove the rear seat, unscrew the speaker assembly mounting nuts, disconnect the electrical connectors to the speaker and amplifier, and if replacing the amplifier, remove its mounting screws, with installation being the reverse.
