    Raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the heal shield covering the wiring harness and sensor. Disconnect the electrical connector from the CKP sensor, which is located at the rear of the engine block on the firewall side. Unscrew the mounting fastener and remove the CKP sensor. Before installing the sensor, lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil. Installation is otherwise the reverse of removal.

    To remove the crankshaft position sensor on a 3.4L V6 model, raise the vehicle and disconnect the wiring from the CKP sensor and unscrew the mounting fastener to remove the sensor and for 3.0L and 3.6L V6 engines, follow the same steps. If you're working on 2009 and earlier models, you'll also need to remove the transfer case, or on 2010 and later models, remove the right-side catalytic converter. Installation is the reverse of removal.
