    Q:
How to remove a power steering pump? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the power steering pump, start by removing the drivebelt and using a power steering pump pulley remover to remove the pulley. Then, remove the oil pan skid plate or engine shield, if equipped, and the intermediate shaft coupler from the steering gear input shaft and lower intermediate shaft. Unclip the wiring harness and disconnect the feed hose, pressure line, and oil cooler hose from the pump, plugging or capping all openings. Lift the pump from the vehicle, being careful not to spill fluid. To install the pump, position it in the mounting bracket and tighten the mounting fasteners to the specified torque. Connect the pressure line and feed hose, press the pulley onto the shaft using a pulley installer tool, and install the drivebelt and engine shield. Finally, fill the power steering reservoir with the recommended fluid and bleed the system.
