Have the air conditioning system discharged by an automotive air conditioning technician. On V6 models, disconnect and plug the power steering cooler lines from the cooler and support them out of the way. Remove the condenser-to-radiator bolts at the top of the radiator. Remove the radiator. On supercharged (LSA) V8 models, unbolt the charge air cooler radiator. Disconnect the pressure switch cycling switch and the refrigerant inlet and outlet pipes from the condenser. Remove the evaporator thermal expansion tube line-to condenser and the compressor line-to-condenser line. Remove the bolt or nut securing the pipes to the block that is part of the condenser. Cap the lines to prevent contamination. Remove the condenser. If you're going to reinstall the same condenser, store it with the line fittings facing up to prevent oil from draining out. At the bottom right corner of the condenser, there is a replaceable desiccant bag inside the condenser that is accessible by removing a threaded plug. Remove the plug, then remove the filter and desiccant bag from the condenser. If installing a new condenser, pour one ounce of refrigerant oil of the correct type into it prior to installation. Before reconnecting the refrigerant lines to the condenser, coat a pair of new 0-rings with refrigerant oil, install them in the refrigerant line fittings and tighten the condenser inlet and outlet nuts to the torque. Installation is otherwise the reverse of removal. Have the system evacuated, recharged and leak tested by the shop that discharged it.
