    Q:
What is the role of the pressure cycling switch in the AC system for Cadillac CTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
The pressure cycling switch, located on top of the hard line connecting the condenser to the air conditioning thermostatic expansion valve (TXV), is crucial in the AC system. It detects low refrigerant line pressure and turns the system off and on to increase the pressure. If the pressure becomes too high, the pressure cut-off switch shuts the system off. To replace the pressure cycling switch, an automotive air conditioning technician should discharge the system first. Then, unplug the electrical connector and unscrew the old switch. Lubricate the O-ring with clean refrigerant oil before installing the new switch. Screw it in until hand tight and then securely tighten. Reconnect the electrical connector and have the technician who discharged it evacuate, recharge, and leak test the system.

    Q:
Where is the pressure sensor located in the air conditioning system for Chevrolet Camaro? Posted by Customer
    A:
The pressure sensor is located on the hard line from the condenser to the air conditioning thermostatic expansion valve(TXV). Remove the air filter housing. Unplug the electrical connector from the pressure cycling switch. Disconnect the electrical connector to the pressure switch. Unscrew the pressure sensor. Replace the 0-ring with a new one. Before installing it, lubricate it with clean refrigerant oil of the correct type. Screw the new sensor into place until hand tight, then tighten it securely. Reconnect the electrical connector. Install the air filter housing.
