    Q:
How do I replace a manual antenna on Buick Century? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin by removing the antenna cable from the radio under the dashboard and replace it. Then unscrew the fender to take off the antenna, which is still attached with its wire, from the car. For new antenna installation, insert the cable lead into the wheel well of the fender and route it toward the radio so that it connects with its back. The screw is used to fix in place an antenna mast on a fender such as this one and to verify its operation. Next, take out the mast from its base and remove trimming part off antenna housing. Undo housing mounting screws at first, then take out lead-in cable of the antenna through engine compartment routing. Remove antennae base assembly and put on new base assembly routing lead-in cable towards radio. Tighten mounting screws for housing of antennae through screwing them up. Install trim for antennae housing then attach antennae to base. Take negative battery cable off then remove instrument panel sound absorber pad in order to install power antennae inside fender. Disconnect relay assembly's antena lead-in and harness connector from them. Use masking tape at rear edge of door and fender if required. Remove inner to outer fender retaining screws as well as front wheel assembly when necessary too. In some cases, take away lower rocker panel and inner splash shield from fender as needed also. Before removing antennae upper retaining nut, unbolt it from bracket along with thirteen other nuts that hold bracket for fitting antennae to vehicle body on passenger side front fender where they removed though here is no picture showing any detail concerning these steps or their exact position; what was shown however was only a general diagram without important information like how many bolts could be on each joint between parts mentioned above except mentioning either side or about another bolt being below there between both brackets since nothing else had been mentioned regarding any other part used besides nuts & Bolts used so far except few specific ones which were mentioned briefly at first. Put it into position, then loosely install power antennae to bracket retaining bolts and upper antenna retaining nut. Finally, reverse the installation procedure and apply silicone grease to the harness connector before reconnecting the negative battery cable. Lastly, test the antennae mast and restore normal functioning of any affected accessory.

    Q:
How to remove and replace the antenna mast and cable assembly on Buick Rainier? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the antenna mast, use a small open-end wrench to unscrew it, taking care to avoid scratching the body by surrounding the base with masking tape. If the antenna base/cable assembly needs to be replaced, remove the glove compartment and detach the lower rear portion of the inner fender liner. Disconnect the antenna mast cable from the radio cable at the connector under the far right end of the instrument panel and attach a fish wire to the cable. Pass the cable and grommet through the hole in the cowl into the fender opening from inside the inner fender liner. Under the hood, remove the antenna mast base mounting screws and pull out the base and its cable. For installation, attach the new cable to the fish wire and carefully pull it back into the body, following the original cable's routing. If the extension cable needs to be replaced, remove the glove compartment and the passenger's airbag module. Release the cable from the clips along the top of the instrument panel and disconnect it from the radio and antenna base cable. Finally, reverse the removal procedure for installation.

    Q:
How do you remove and install Antenna Cable and Antenna on Chevrolet Express? Posted by Customer
    A:
When removing a fixed antenna mast, one has to use antenna wrench or the open wrench to unscrew it off the mounting base while installation, it is done in reverse of the above-stated process and must tighten the mast tightly. This is how to operate the power antenna mast: reverse the upper mounting nut, switch on the ignition key and the radio and hand guide the mast into position. After it expands to the maximum, pull it out from the base and do not forget to switch off the radio and the ignition. To install, follow the same process but insert the plastic cable into the horn part of the antenna that is placed at the base and fix in position such that the serrated side faces the motor this leaves the motor to retract the antenna while holding firmly the cable. Tighten the upper mounting nut but do not over torque it. For the power antenna motor remove the antenna cable and electrical connector that is below the dash, pull the grommet through the cowl panel, open the hood and remove the ground strap and the antenna cable retainer accordingly. The antenna base and cable have to be removed as well as the mounting bolts and the antenna assembly has to be disconnected from the fender trim, while installation is carried out inversely. In case of the antenna cable, one needs to take off the radio, and any mounting brackets where available, pull out the antenna cable clip, undo the connector at the firewall and remove the actual cable and this is vice versa for the installation.

How do you remove the antenna mast on GMC Canyon? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the antenna mast, use a small open-end wrench to unscrew it. Take care to avoid scratching the body by surrounding the base with masking tape. If the antenna base/cable assembly needs to be replaced, remove the glove compartment, right door sill plate, right kick panel, and detach the lower rear portion of the inner fender liner. Disconnect the antenna mast cable from the radio cable and attach a fish wire to the end of the cable. Pass the cable and grommet through the hole in the cowl into the fender opening. Then remove the cowl cover and the antenna mast base mounting bolts.

    Q:
How do you lower the antenna and replace it if the mast has failed on Pontiac Firebird? Posted by Customer
    A:
Lower the antenna by turning off the radio or ignition switch. If the mast has failed in the up position and is being replaced, it can be cut off at fender level for easier removal. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, ensuring to disable the anti-theft feature on models with a Delco Loe II audio system before doing so. Remove the screws that attach the inner fender skirt to the fender. To access the antenna assembly, pull down on the rear of the fender skirt and hold it away from the fender using a block of wood. Remove the escutcheon nut that retains the antenna cable assembly to the fender. Disconnect the electrical leads, then remove the bolts that hold the antenna assembly to the bracket and take out the assembly. For installation, reverse the removal steps, ensuring the mast is fully retracted and the lower bracket is secured by the fender skirt retaining screw.

    Q:
How to disconnect the negative battery cable and replace the antenna on Pontiac Grand Prix? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the negative battery cable, ensuring that on models with the Theftlock audio system, the lockout feature is disabled before any procedure that requires battery disconnection. For the standard antenna, use a small wrench to unscrew it from the base and replace it with a new one; to remove the base, utilize snap-ring pliers to take off the base retaining nut. For the power antenna, open the trunk and take off the trim panel, then unscrew the escutcheon from the fender. Unplug the electrical connector, disconnect the ground and relay cables, drain tube, and antenna lead, and then remove the antenna and motor assembly. Installation follows the reverse order of removal.

    Q:
How to remove and straighten the antenna on the right front fender on Pontiac Fiero? Posted by Customer
    A:
The antenna on the right front fender is a rigid one and cannot be adjusted either up or downwards. If it gets slightly bent, by use of hand, it can be straightened but if it is heavily bent, it means that it needs replacement. To retract the antenna mast, simply unscrew the antenna for the removal of the mast you need to loosen the retaining nut. With reference to figure 4, normally after the mast has been dismantled, one can un-bolt the antenna body and cable assembly from the fender.
