    Q:
How to replace a left-side CMP sensor on Buick Enclave? Posted by Customer
    A:
Four CMP sensors are located on the cylinder heads' front. To replace a left-side sensor, drain the engine coolant, support the engine with a floor jack, remove the engine mount strut, bracket, radiator inlet hose, and power steering reservoir bolts. Move the reservoir aside, disconnect the CMP sensor connector, remove the sensor mounting bolt and the sensor. Reinstall in reverse order and refill the cooling system if drained.

    Q:
How do you disconnect and replace the CMP sensor on Cadillac CTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. For 3.2L V6 models, the CMP sensor is located at the top corner of the valve cover, above the left end of the exhaust camshaft. Disconnect the CMP sensor electrical connector, remove the CMP sensor mounting bolt, and take out the CMP sensor from the top of the valve cover. Inspect the condition of the CMP sensor O-ring and replace it if cracked, torn, or deteriorated. Installation is the reverse of removal. For all other V6 models, there are four CMP sensors, one for the intake camshaft and one for the exhaust on each cylinder head. If removing the CMP sensors from the right side (Bank 1), remove the air filter housing; if from the left side (Bank 2), remove the engine mount bracket. Disconnect the CMP sensor electrical connector, remove the CMP sensor mounting bolt, and take out the CMP sensor. Remove and inspect the CMP sensor O-ring, replacing it if necessary, and lubricate the sensor O-ring with clean engine oil before reversing the removal process for installation. For 5.7L V8 models, the sensor is located at the rear of the cylinder block, between the two cylinder banks. Remove the intake manifold, disconnect the CMP sensor electrical connector, remove the CMP sensor mounting bolt, and take out the CMP sensor. Inspect and replace the CMP sensor O-ring if needed, lubricate it with clean engine oil, and install by reversing the removal steps. For 6.0L and 6.2L V8 models, remove the drivebelts and idler pulley, then the crankshaft pulley/balancer. Remove the sensor and jumper harness assembly mounting bolts from the front cover, disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the jumper harness connector, and then disconnect the sensor from the jumper harness connector. Inspect the CMP sensor O-ring and replace it if cracked, torn, or deteriorated, lubricate it with clean engine oil, and install by reversing the removal process.

How do you remove and install camshaft sensors on Pontiac Torrent? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the camshaft position sensor 3.0L and 3.6L V6 engines have four camshaft sensors. If replacing the CMP sensor on the right side, remove the air filter housing. For the left side replacement on 2013 and later 3.6L models, remove the front engine mount. Installation is the reverse of removal. The 2.4L four-cylinder engine has two camshaft sensors, the intake camshaft position sensor located below the fuel pump, and the exhaust camshaft sensor located at the corner of the cylinder head above the exhaust manifold. To remove the intake camshaft position sensor, remove the fuel pump cover, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the mounting bolt and the sensor from the cylinder head.
