    For 2008 and earlier models, replace the lower intake manifold along with fuel injectors and fuel rail, then replace the upper intake manifold. Install the bolts and tighten them evenly. For 2009 and later models, install the intake manifold and tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern. Finally, complete the remaining steps in the reverse order of removal.

    In 2008 and earlier models, you should remove the engine top cover, air outlet tube from the air filter housing, PCV tube from the air filter inlet, and disconnect the electrical connectors to the intake manifold tuning valve, throttle body, and Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. Also, disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose, wiring from the throttle body, PCV tube from the intake manifold, and the quick-connect fitting at the tube from the EVAP canister purge solenoid. Move aside the EVAP tube and remove fasteners from the engine wiring harness.
