For an air conditioner compressor to be removed and replaced, you need a professional to first discharge the air conditioning system, and then obtain the oil totals removed during the discharge process as this information is needed for replacement. After discharging the system, loosen the right front wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle on jackstands and remove wheel and inner fender splash shield. When you have removed an old compressor consider refilling with new oil for proper balancing of oils in a graduated container by unscrewing its drain plug until all oil drains off completely. Write down this quantity along with that recorded earlier through refrigerant recovery.
