Inspect the mounts for cracked, hardened, or separated rubber, which may sometimes split down the center. Applying rubber preservative or WD-40 can help slow deterioration.

To replace the mounts, disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, raise the vehicle securely on jackstands, and remove the nuts attaching the mount studs to the engine subframe. Attach an engine hoist to the top of the engine for lifting, avoiding the use of a jack under the oil pan to prevent damage to the oil pump pick-up. If a hoist is unavailable, casting lugs on each side of the engine block can support the engine's weight during mount replacement. Raise the engine slightly until the mount can be unbolted from the block, then remove it from the vehicle.

Installation follows the reverse order of removal. Use thread-locking compound on the mount bolts and ensure they are tightened securely before reconnecting the battery.

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. 2. Raise the vehicle on jackstands. 3. Remove the right front wheel along with the inner fender splash shield. 4. Raise the engine slightly to relieve weight from the mounts, taking care not to disconnect more than one mount at a time unless the engine is being removed. 5. Detach the mount from the chassis bracket and remove the nuts holding the mount to the engine bracket.
