    Use a small open-end wrench to unscrew the antenna mast. Then, you can unplug the antenna cable, and remove the cap nut as well as the adapter and the gasket. Loosen the screws that connect the antenna to the fender. Installation is the reverse of removal.

    If you want to remove the cable and antenna mast in different models, go through these procedures. • For Cobalt/GS models: unscrew its mounting base to disconnect it from the antenna mast. The installation is a reversal of removing this item. • In HHR models, open liftgate and take away back headliner trim panel. To get rid of the bolt used for mounting the antenna located on this part, pull down rear side of headliner carefully. After that, take off antenna base while disconnecting cable. Installation is reverse of removal. • When removing antennae bases and cables, ION models have their front fender removed; Remove antenna mount bracket nuts and then remove both the mounting brackets together with cable attachment points; Reinstalling or fixing it follows the same process of taking it out.

    Remove the glove compartment and the passenger's airbag module. Release the cable from the clips along the top of the instrument panel and disconnect it from the radio and antenna base cable. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
