- Q: How do you remove the front and rear bumper covers on Saturn Vue?A: To remove the front bumper cover for 2005 and earlier models, first apply the parking brake, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the headlights and parking lights, then take out the screws and pushpins from the front air dam and lift it off. Use a small screwdriver to pop the center button up on the plastic fasteners without removing the center buttons. Unclip the front inner fender splash shields from the bumper cover and pull the liners to the rear or remove them completely. Disconnect the fog lights if equipped, then unbolt the bumper cover from the lower front part of each fender, accessible after removing the inner fender splash shields. Remove the retainers from the top and bottom of the bumper cover, pull it forward to release the lock tabs from the fenders, and lift off the cover. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring the tabs on the back of the bumper cover fit into the corresponding clips on the body before installing the fasteners, with an assistant being helpful. For 2006 and later models, begin by removing the headlights, then for standard models, take off the upper grille, hood stop bumpers, and upper bumper support. For all models, remove the fasteners from the lower air dam and lift it off, then remove the two pushpins from the front of each wheel well liner, and pull the bumper cover forward to release it as you lift it off, with installation being the reverse of removal. To remove the rear bumper cover for 2005 and earlier models, take out the inner fender splash shields attached with plastic pushpins, open the liftgate, and remove the pushpin fasteners from the top of the bumper cover. Detach the fasteners securing the bottom of the bumper cover, unclip each end from the body by working through the wheel wells to reach the tabs, and pull the bumper cover out and away from the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal. For 2006 and later models, open the liftgate and remove the six pushpin fasteners from the top of the bumper cover, then remove the four fasteners from the bottom and the two fasteners at each end inside the wheel wells before pulling the bumper cover out and away from the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal.
